Harmonizing Recovery: Robotic Glove Helps Stroke Survivors Relearn Music

Summary: A custom-made robotic hand, called a’smart exoskeleton,’ can help stroke patients re-learn dexterity skills, such as playing music. The glove is equipped with soft actuators and artificial intelligence. It can provide tactile sensations and mimic natural hand movements.

The glove could be a new tool in personalized rehabilitation by recognizing correct and incorrect piano playing. The current design is primarily aimed at music but the technology could be used for other rehabilitation tasks.
