Amnesty uses AI to create images of Colombian protests and draws criticism
The Colombian protests started on April 28th, 2021. They were sparked by an anti-tax reform by middle and working class Colombians.
Amnesty International’s use of AI-generated images to commemorate Colombian protests’ second anniversary has sparked debate about the credibility of advocacy organizations and media organisations in their coverage.
Amnesty Norway’s regional account tweeted three images. The first image showed a group of police officers in armor; the second was a policeman with a red stain on his face and the third was a picture of a protester who had been dragged by police.
