AI-based detection of rare events harnesses the abilities of autonomous confocal microscope
Aivia’s Autonomous Microscopy allows scientists to learn more about their experiments by extracting only the most important data.
Wetzlar (Germany), 06 June 2023 – Leica Microsystems has introduced Autonomous Microscopy powered with Aivia. This new AI detection workflow automates rare event detection in confocal microscopes. The user defines the objects that trigger the scan for rare events. The users can discover more because the system automatically detects up to 90% rare events in an experiment. The time it takes to get a result can be reduced up to 70% by focusing on data that matters during the acquisition. Aivia’s workflow can reduce time spent under the microscope by as much as 75%. This allows for increased productivity.
James O’Brien is Vice President for Life Sciences and Applied Microscopy, Leica Microsystems. He says: \”Autonomous Microscopy powered with Aivia brings Artificial Intelligence into everyday experiment environments in an intuitive way.\” Researchers can now create confocal workflows to address biological questions and advanced experiments that would have been impossible or extremely laborious without automated processes. This solution offers them a wide range of options for obtaining results that answer research questions.
