Apple Engineers Build ChatGPT Clone But Executives Unsure Of Launch
Mark Gurman, Bloomberg News reports that Apple is developing secretly its own generative AI tool to compete with OpenAI’s GPT as well as other language models such Google’s Bard. ChatGPT, the ChatGPT-clone used by Apple employees to perform work tasks and internally dubbed as \”Apple GPT\”, is being used for some time.
Gurman revealed that Apple is working on a covert project with teams from AI and software engineering. Apple is launching this initiative because it fears that its products will lose their vitality if they fall behind in AI.
Apple has used AI in its devices for many years. It is primarily used behind the scenes, to improve photo and video quality and power features like crash detection. Apple’s iOS has been introducing AI-powered features in recent years.
