Apple Limits the use of AI-powered tools within its own company in light of growing competition

Apple limits the internal use of AI tools such as ChatGPT and Github Copilot

In a race to develop generative AI, big tech companies are cautious in sharing their secrets. Apple, a report claims, has restricted the use of tools such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT or Microsoft-owned GitHub Copilot to its employees in order to keep their data out of competitors’ hands.

OpenAI has launched its official ChatGPT iOS app Thursday. Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg reporter, tweeted that the chatbot had been on Apple’s list of restricted software for months.

I think ChatGPT was banned/on Apple’s list of restricted software for several months. The release of ChatGPT for iOS today makes this issue relevant once again.
