Apple on the hunt for Generative AI Talent

Apple is looking for AI talent with generative capabilities

Apple is likely to be struggling, along with a number other companies, as to what role AI advances are playing and should play in their business. Apple, however, is certain that it will bring in more AI talent to its business.

Cupertino’s company posted at least 12 job advertisements on its Career page, seeking experts in generative AI. It’s specifically looking for machine-learning specialists who are \”passionate\” about creating extraordinary autonomous systems in the field. Some of the job advertisements (which seem to be for the same position or call for multiple applicants), first appeared on April 27. The most recent one was published this week.

These job listings come amid mixed signals coming from the company in relation to generative AI. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple’s Q2 earnings call held earlier this month did not give specific answers when asked about the company’s efforts in the field. However, he didn’t completely dismiss the idea. Apple’s approach to generative AI, he said was \”deliberate\” and \”thoughtful.\” He called it \”very interesting.\” Yesterday, the WSJ revealed that Apple had begun restricting the use of OpenAI’s ChatGPT as well as other external generative tools by some employees due to concerns about proprietary data leaking through the platforms.
