Are you too healthy for your own good? The Illogical conclusions of psychological research

You’re too healthy to be your own good!

Why would anyone ever want to be anything less than 100% healthy?

Recent Reason of Fight Ageing! Psychological research has revealed a conservatism among people in regards to what they consider the \”ideal levels\” of happiness, intelligence and longevity.

Even though it may not surprise you, many people didn’t want to live much longer than average (90 years), even if they assumed eternal youth. After all, LEAF would not be in business without the concept of healthy life extensions being so unjustly frowned upon. It’s surprising to learn that, on a scale of 0 (completely unhealthy) to 100 (completely healthy), the average preference was between 80 and 90%. These results are a good opportunity to reflect.

Illogical Conclusions

The absurd yet inevitable implications of these statements are not known to the participants in the studies. Does that mean, if 100 is \”completely health\” and your \”ideal health\” is, say, only 85, that if you feel that you are \”90% healthy\”, you would deliberately look into ways to harm your health in order to reach your ideal health level? What would it mean to be \”90% healthy\”? What would you find annoying about not getting a little sicker? What would you gain from not being completely healthy? Have you ever had a moment in your life when you thought \”Blimey I’m too healthy for myself\”? It’s time to get sick. You’ll probably think \”Perfect timing\” when you are sick.
