Dr Aubrey de Grey, a biomedical geriatrician based in Mountain View California, USA is also the Chief Scientist Officer at SENS Research Foundation. This California-based biomedical research charity funds and performs laboratory research dedicated to fighting the ageing process. He is also the Vice President of New Technology Discovery for AgeX Therapeutics. This biotechnology startup develops new therapies in biomedical gerontology. He is also Editor-in Chief of Rejuvenation, the highest impact peer-reviewed journal in the world focused on ageing intervention. The University of Cambridge awarded him a BA in computer sciences and a Ph.D. degree in biology. His research interests include the characterisation and design of interventions that repair or obviate self-inflicted molecular and cellular damage that is a part of mammalian aging. Dr de Grey has been a member of the Gerontological Society of America, the American Aging Association and numerous editorial and scientific boards. He is an extremely sought-after public speaker, giving 40-50 talks per year to scientific conferences, universities and companies in all areas, from life insurance to pharma.
