Certific and PocDoc work together to combat cardiovascular disease
Certific, which recently raised EUR7.4million to accelerate remote diagnostics, has announced a partnership with healthtech startup PocDoc in order to combat the world’s leading killer: cardiovascular disease.
This novel screening allows patients to monitor their blood pressure, BMI, and most importantly, quantitative lipids levels remotely through the same user interface. The solution will be implemented through several pilots in collaboration with the NHS across the UK and, eventually, throughout Europe and the world.
Longevity. Technology: Heart and circulation diseases are responsible for a quarter (more than 160,000 deaths per year) of all UK deaths. That’s one death every three minutes. Around 7.6 million UK residents suffer from a circulatory or heart disease. The National Health Service (NHS), which is the government’s health service, incurs an estimated cost of 7.4 billion pounds per year. This has a larger economic impact of approximately 15.8 billion pounds. Early identification can help prevent cases, ensure the best treatment and reduce strain on the healthcare system.
