The ‘Deepfake’ scam in China raises concern about AI-powered fraud

Artificial intelligence (AI), as used in a recent scam reported in China, has raised concern about its use in fraudulent activities. Reuters reports that a discussion on Weibo, a social media site, about the rapid increase in AI-powered scanners has received more than 120,000,000 views in ONE DAY.
As AI technology becomes more common, there are fears that it could affect the average person.
