According to a recent study, the cholesterol-lowering drug, alirocumab, was associated with a 15% reduced risk of death and a similar reduction in cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack.
This is the first time that a drug to lower cholesterol has been able to reduce deaths since statins like Crestor and Lipitor were introduced decades ago.
