Czinger’s 3D printed hypercar breaks records

Czinger’s new 3D-printed hypercar could spark an automaking revolution

As the cockpit canopy closes, I am seated directly behind my pilot and prepare to take off. The scene could have been from Top Gun: Maverick, except that we are not launching off an aircraft carrier. Instead, we are pulling out of pit-lane at Thermal Club’s race track in the final prototype of the Czinger 21C.

Czinger 21C, a $2 million carbon-fiber tandem seat car with 1,250 horsepower, 0 to 62 in 1.9 seconds and a top speed of 253mph, is a vehicle that will blow your mind. It recently broke the McLaren P1 production car track record by six seconds at Circuit of the Americas. But more impressive–seriously–is the hybrid’s build process: The main structural components are designed by Czinger’s proprietary AI software and then 3D-printed. Kevin Czinger and his son Lukas cofounded Czinger Vehicles in Los Angeles. \”You could have a thousand engineers, but they would not get this solution.\”
