Age is a sign of wisdom, they say. Can we mature and grow as a person while remaining young and healthy, or can we only do this when our health and youth are at their peak? Can ageing be treated like any other illness? David Sinclair is a professor of genetics and biochemistry at Harvard Medical School.

David Andrew Sinclair, an Australian biologist, is a Professor of Genetics who is best known for his research into the biology of life-span extension and his drive to treat diseases of aging.

Sinclair is the co-director of the Paul F. Glenn Laboratories at Harvard Medical School for Biological Mechanisms of Aging. Sinclair received a Bachelors of Science with Honors (Class I) from the University of New South Wales in Sydney and the Australian Commonwealth Prize. He received a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995. He has been a tenured Professor in the Genetics Department at Harvard Medical School since 1999.

Sinclair is the recipient of over 25 awards, including the Australian Commonwealth Prize and the Helen Hay Whitney Fellowship. He has also received the Nathan Shock Award and the Merck Prize. Other awards include the Arminese Fellowship and the Genzyme Outstanding Achievement in Biomedical Science Award.
