Dean Kamen’s Initiative for a Factory of Human Organs: Revolutionizing Transplant Medical Practice

Building a factory for human organs

Dean Kamen is the inventor of Segway. He’s currently leading a project that will convert a part of an old textile factory in New Hampshire into a lab for growing lungs, livers and other organs to be transplanted.

The nonprofit is akin to a club of tissue engineering and regenerative medical researchers. To join, groups must offer something (money, equipment or experience). Once they are a member of ARMI, however, they have access to all the research and resources.
