Cryonics – The future of ambulances?
Ira Pastor, ideaXme exponential ambassador, interviews Mr. Dennis Kowalski. He is the President of Cryonics Institute, an EMT-paramedic certified in advanced cardio life support (ACLS), and advanced pediatric life supports (PALS). He also has been a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association as well as a firefighter!

Ira Pastor says: Cryonics refers to the freezing of human bodies or parts of human bodies at extremely low temperatures (or vitrification – converting them into glass or glass-like substances) and storing the body in the hope of resurrection.

Cryonics procedures are only legal after clinical death. \”Patients\” who undergo cryonics are considered legally dead. Cryonics procedures should begin within minutes after death and cryoprotectants are used to prevent the formation of ice during cryopreservation. The first person frozen by cryonics in 1967 was Dr. James Bedford.

Over 300 bodies have been cryopreserved by Americans, and over a thousand people have taken care of cryopreservation.

It is currently not possible to reanimate a body after vitrification. However, to revive patients, it will need to be possible to cure diseases that lead to death and to repair damaged cells from the freezing process.

The Cryonics Institute is a not-for profit corporation in the United States that offers cryonics services for both humans and animals.
