Why Dr. Brad Stanfield needed to apologize
Critique of a video that denounces resveratrol.
Many of you have asked me for my opinion on the latest \”why I stopped\” video by Brad Stanfield, which was this one about resveratrol, and pterostilbene. Here is what I think.

As I’m not a medical doctor (MD) like Dr. Brad Stanfield, nor am I a PhD in longevity, I won’t be analyzing the content of Dr. Brad Stanfield’s resveratrol videos. I will just give my opinion, as a layperson. The thumbnail was intriguing, and I, as you, was sure to be intrigued. Many YouTube Gurus advise that the thumbnail should include your face, and if possible a shocked expression. Some can do this but I can’t. Dr. Brad Stanfield is able to. I was not overly worried after watching the video. The latest study was eight months ago. If David Sinclair or his family had stated that he would stop taking Resveratrol, even if it was for 10 years, I would have been more concerned. Dr. Brad Stanfield provides a great intro, and talks about the timeline. I’ll use this as a measure to question whether the third Resveratrol Dr. Brad Stanfield video is necessary, or if there is a hidden agenda. I don’t know why he needs to apologize, because he, like many YouTubers who report on longevity, just reports the facts and doesn’t give advice or recommendations. This CRISP Resveratrol Report may seem alarming at first, but Brad Stanfield’s statement that Resveratrol stresses cells is in line what David Sinclair has said, that it is hormesis or molecular stress, and not mental stress.
Brad Stanfield’s Intro talked about using a time line. This trial was conducted 8 years ago in 2013, if you didn’t pause and check the dates you might think this happened after the CRISPR-resveratrol trials (the knockout blow of 2020 that Brad Stanfield already described). The MD was influenced by opinion and hype, which clouded his judgement. But the human medical trials that Dr. Brad Stanfield backed in his February 2020 video on resveratrol weren’t hype and opinion but human clinical studies published on PubMed.gov. (As Brad Stanfield said ‘what good human clinical studies show’). If you apply the same logic perhaps the latest CRISPR study is just opinion and hysteria? These kinds of apology are not acceptable to me, especially if the people making them hold positions of trust and authority. I’ve read comments, and many people seem to think that this latest Resveratrol Dr. Brad Stanfield video has improved their view of him. Patreons pay extra for content so Dr. Brad Stanfield Patreon gives extra advice to those that can afford it. Perhaps a refund of the $9 Dr. Brad Stanfield Patron is in order? Brad Stanfield’s video of 09 May 2021, which prompted this review, contains no new information. If it did, then why didn’t he post this Knock-Out Blow eight months ago, following the CRISPR Resveratrol Report? Why did he wait so long? If Dr. Brad Stanfield believes that Resveratrol does not work, then he must take down the videos. Will the loss of Ad revenue be too much to bear? If you’ve fallen short (which Dr. Brad Stanfield has admitted up to now), then actions speak louder. Remember that the first reason for an apology is that you genuinely believe that what you’ve done was wrong and that it’s a mistake.
