Early evidence of stem cell therapy against macular degeneration
There are very few treatments for age-related macular disease, the most common cause of blindness in older people.
Now, stem cell therapy has been shown to be effective in treating at least one type of cancer.
Researchers from the U.S. National Eye Institute have predicted that the results of the study could lead to human trials for this treatment.
