The Norwegian expansion of Einride, a self-driving truck firm
COPENHAGEN (Reuters), June 14, 2018 — Swedish electric self driving truck company Einride is partnering with Scandinavia’s largest postal service PostNord to reduce CO2 emission in Norway by 2,100 tons over the next three years.
Norway is the country with the most electric vehicles per capita and the goal of zero emissions for all heavy vehicles by 2040. This could reduce CO2 emissions in the country by nearly 9% or 4.4 million tonnes.
Robert Falck, CEO of Einride, said: \”Given Norway’s pioneering work on electrifying passenger cars it is only logical for them to take a lead role in the electrification heavy-duty trucks as well.\”
