The rise of AI – a ‘doomsday for AI’ or a boon to humanity?
Several industry experts have shared their opinions on the impact artificial intelligence will likely have on humanity in the near future. Unsurprisingly, the responses are mixed.
The Guardian published an article that discusses the possible socioeconomic and political impacts of the increasing rollout of AI on society. The responses of experts on the topic were a mix bag of doom and gloom.

Jessica Newman of the University of California Berkeley’s Artificial Intelligence Security Initiative told The Guardian that she did not believe AI would turn evil or have a malevolent intent. She added that the danger comes from something simpler, namely, people programming AI to do harmful things or integrating AI systems inherently inaccurate into more and more areas of society.
