Interview with Sarah Constantin, Daphnia Labs
Sarah Constantin is one of the founding members of Daphnia labs, a new biotech company. The company has developed a platform to discover geroprotective drug candidates: in vivo, phenotypic screenings in model organisms. The company will use high-resolution videos to track Daphnia throughout its life to find drugs that could extend healthspan.
What can you tell us about your company, the founders and why you started this biotech firm?
I had been working at the Longevity Research Institute for about a month. It is a non-profit that funds research on aging. LRI’s main focus is to replicate interventions that were reported to increase lifespan in mammals. Which of the 50+ compounds that show some evidence of an anti-aging effect in mammals have the greatest chance of being viable human geroprotectors?
