Explore multiple routes to pluripotency by unlocking the potential of epiblast stem cells

Induce Pluripotency through Multiple Routes

New research reveals multiple ways to reprogramme epiblast stem cells back into a pluripotent condition, opening the door for a deeper understanding of epigenetics.

Epigenetics: What is it?

The epigenetics is what makes our cells function differently, even though they all have the exact same DNA. The genetics of a cell are the same as that of a cell in the nervous system, but the epigenetic switches tell it to act like a cell in the bone tissue and not the nerve tissue. However, epigenetic changes are one of the hallmarks of ageing. As we age harmful epigenetic switch are activated, and beneficial epigenetic switches deactivated. This leads to age-related dysfunction. This can even cause inflammation which leads to further epigenetic damage.
