There is No A.I.
\”As an expert in computer science, I dislike the term \”A.I. \”. I find it misleading, and even dangerous. Everyone uses the term and it may seem like a bit of a late time to start arguing over it. We’re just at the dawn of a new era in technology, and misunderstanding a tool is the easiest way to misuse it.
Artificial intelligence is a term that has a rich history. It was first used in the 1950s, at the dawn of the computer age. Computer scientists grew up watching movies like The Terminator, The Matrix and characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation. In tech culture, these cultural touchstones are almost a religious mythology. It’s natural for computer scientists to dream of creating A.I. It’s only natural that computer scientists long to create A.I.
It’s interesting to note that many people are also concerned about the possible doomsday for mankind if A.I. The dream is also accompanied by a fear that the A.I. could spell doom for humanity. Even scientists who are at the forefront of current efforts have stated that A.I. Researchers are creating a situation that could lead to the extinction of humanity or, at the very least, cause great harm. A recent poll found that half of A.I. Scientists agreed that A.I. had a 10% chance of destroying the human race.
