Julian Huxley’s intention, it seems to me, was to offer a better deal than any superstitious religion. A relief from the fear of death. Morality is self-judged and may be situational, but it’s not ethical codes imposed on you by invisible bullies or humans calling His name.
Many – perhaps most – people on trans/ singul/posthuman lists are attracted to radical futurism for the specific reason of extending their life and achieving immortality (continuation in awareness) by technology. Posthuman.org focuses on MVT analog interfaces and circuits. It is less ambitious than approaches that preserve the whole brain, personality or memory. This is because only signals related to game decisions need to be retained. Who wants to be aware of their death?
