How will religions cope with an AI that is omnipotent?
Aporia Magazine is a great place to publish my latest story. I am writing a transhumanism series. My latest article on AI and Religion is now available.
Written by Zoltan Isvan.
A consensus among 350 of the world’s top AI experts has concluded that engineers will be able to create a superintelligence by 2060, which can rival human intelligence. This machine intelligence could create complex symphonies and blockbuster films, or run companies that are market leaders. Would it be sophisticated enough, however, to practice religion or commune with higher powers?
Theologians and scientists around the globe are trying to find answers in conferences and forums. Some even debate whether superintelligence will be converted into a religious perspective once it arrives, and maybe even saved.
Kevin Kelly, the executive founding editor of Wired Magazine, once said: \”The Creator made us as conscious beings with freewill. We will do the same.\” We will create beings that have free will and consciousness because we are made in the image the creator.
