Custom Digital Avatars: How, why, and whether they will live on after we die
Imagine that a digital version of yourself will continue to exist after you die. These digital avatars could be used to comfort loved ones and preserve knowledge and experience. Although there are some benefits to this, it is still unclear if the effect is comforting or creepy.
You may not benefit from a digital afterlife, even though it is soon to arrive.
We are creating a lot of data that could be used to create digital avatars, which will live on even after our death. This would allow us to comfort our loved ones and share our experiences with future generations.
It may be a disappointment compared to the vision of the futurists who are more optimistic, in which we upload our consciousness into the cloud and live for eternity in machines. It’s possible that this will be a reality in a not too distant future. The first steps have been taken.
