Will AI make MC MC the MVP in particle physics?
Monte Carlo simulations were developed by physicists nearly a hundred years ago to study neutron diffusion. They are mathematical models which use random numbers in order to simulate various events. Imagine you have six-sided dice and would like to know the probability that the dice will land on a certain number.
Susanna G. Guatelli is an associate professor of Physics at the University of Wollongong, Australia. She says, \”You throw your dice on the table and then you watch the result.\”
You can create a probability distribution by repeating the experiment of throwing dice and noting how many times the dice land on a particular number. This will give you a list that shows the likelihood of your dice landing on each outcome.
