ChatGPT: Australian departments given the freedom to experiment AI tool
A lawmaker warns that the policy vacuum could affect refugees.
ABC News reports that the Australian federal government has delegated the decision-making on artificial intelligence (AI), such as ChatGPT, to individual departments instead of formulating one policy for all public services.
Since its introduction last year, millions of users have tried out tools like ChatGPT. Private organizations have also jumped on the AI bandwagon to integrate it into their products and services in order to increase productivity and reduce costs.
