Artificial intelligence and medicine: The potential benefits and potential dangers
John Yang
Artificial intelligence has a place in many scientific fields. But none is more promising than the healthcare field, where programs are being taught to diagnose and answer medical questions from patients. There are still some issues to be resolved. I spoke earlier with Dr. Isaac Kohane. He is the editor-in chief of the New England Journal of Medicine AI and chair of Harvard’s Department of Biomedical Informatics. I asked him what the potential of AI in medicine was.
Dr. Isaac Kohane is the Editor-in Chief of New England Journal of Medicine AI. Doctors will be able to use AI for augmentation so that they can remember all of the information they need about their patients, including their own patient and other patients similar to them.
