Healthy aging: study identifies attributes that are linked to longevity
In the past, research has often used a very narrow definition of healthy aging.
Researchers at the University of Toronto have recently conducted a study that has given them new insights on healthy aging in Canada. They observed two distinct demographics: older immigrants and Canadian-born adults.
The authors of the study identified a number of characteristics that are associated with positive experiences in later life, which may contribute to healthy ageing. They have therefore revised the definition for what it is to age successfully.
