Dr. Paul Thagard, a philosopher and cognitive scientist who has written many books in different fields, is an expert on the subject. He is currently a Distinguished Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at University of Waterloo where he established and directed the Cognitive Sciences Program.
Dr. Thagard holds degrees from the Universities of Saskatchewan (with a Ph.D. in philosophy), Cambridge (with a MS in computer sciences), and Michigan (with a degree in computer science). He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Canada and the Association for Psychological Science. In 2007, the Canada Council gave him a Molson Prize and in 2013, a Killam Prize.
