David Sinclair is a professor in the Department of Genetics and co-director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School, where he and his colleagues study sirtuins–protein-modifying enzymes that respond to changing NAD+ levels and to caloric restriction–as well as chromatin, energy metabolism, mitochondria, learning and memory, neurodegeneration, cancer, and cellular reprogramming.
Dr David Sinclair suggested that aging was a disease, and that we might soon have the tools necessary to put it in remission. He also called for more international attention on the benefits to society and the economy of a world where billions of people could live longer and healthier lives.
Dr David Sinclair, co-founder and board member of many biotechnology companies, including Life Biosciences (Life Biosciences), Sirtris (Gencea), MetroBiotech (ArcBio), Liberty Biosecurity, Cohbar etc., is a leading expert in the field of biotechnology.
