A world-leading hospital to specialize in longevity
One of the leading hospitals in the world is getting ready to offer clinical longevity services to its patients. Sheba Medical Center, Tel Aviv in Israel, will open a longevity centre dedicated to the public in 2023.
Longevity. Technology: Although research, development, and investment into longevity is at an all-time peak, longevity clinical practices are virtually nonexistent in mainstream healthcare. Private clinical practices now offer longevity services to those who are able to afford them, but the benefits of improved healthspan for society can only be realized if it is available to everyone. We spoke to Professor Tzipi Strauss, Director for Neonatology, Sheba Hospital. She is the person behind this new centre.
Strauss says that although it may seem odd that a paediatrician would be the one to initiate an initiative aimed at improving aging, the importance of longevity starts from birth.
