A.I. A.I. What does that mean?
Analysts say that AI-generated supply chains can forecast demand, determine when trucks require maintenance, and plan optimal shipping routes. \”AI may be capable of removing all human touchpoints, including back office tasks, from the supply chain,\” Morgan Stanley analysts said.
But, \”Generative Artificial Intelligence, to me, is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of disruption that will happen… there will be job losses in ‘traditional’ settings, but, I believe, it’s also going to create new employment like every previous technology disruption,\” said Navneet Kapoor, chief technology officer and information officer of shipping giant Maersk.
Artificial intelligence is likely to…
Analysts and insiders in the industry believe that artificial intelligence will transform the transportation industry. It will change the way supply chains are managed, and reduce the number of human jobs.
According to industry executives, robots that walk on the sidewalk, trucks that drive themselves and bots for customer service are all coming, as well as generative AI, which can predict disruptions and explain why sales projections might have been missed.
In a recent research note, Morgan Stanley’s Ravi Shanker and his team stated that AI could be used to remove (or almost) all human touchpoints from the supply chain. This includes ‘back-office’ tasks.
