Deep learning pioneer Geoffrey Hinton quits Google
The New York Times today reported that Geoffrey Hinton is leaving Google after 10 years as a VP, engineering fellow, and pioneer in deep learning. Hinton developed some of most important techniques used to develop modern AI.
Hinton told the Times that he now has new concerns about the technology he was instrumental in bringing about and wants to openly discuss them. He also said he regrets a large part of his life’s efforts.
