Immortal Quasiparticles Defy the Second Law of Thermodynamics

Scientists have found evidence that a strange group of quantum particles are basically immortal

Nothing lasts forever. Everything has an expiration time, including humans, planets and stars. In the quantum world, things don’t always adhere to the rules. Scientists have discovered that quantum systems can contain quasiparticles which are effectively immortal.

This does not mean that they do not decay. Once these quasiparticles decay, they can reorganise back into existence.

This seems to contradict the second law, which states that in a system isolated, entropy can only increase. Things can only degrade, and not rebuild.
