Tissue Rejuvenation via Plasma Dilution | Irina Conboy, UC Berkeley
At 58:38, the future of plasma dilution is described. They will publish results of 25 human subjects and then create a company that will conduct phase 3 trials on more patients and with placebos and hopefully get funding. You can apparently pay for the procedure. This year, in May, we can expect a hopeful start.
Irina will discuss her latest findings on plasma dilation, which show that age-reversing results, such as the rejuvenation of tissues in mice can be achieved.
Exchanging the old blood plasma for saline albumin can rejuvenate three germ layer tissues.
Irina’s main research interests
My laboratory’s key focus is to identify age-induced and pathological changes to the molecular composition of local and systemic environments of adult stem cell populations and calibrate them to youth. This direction has been extended in the last few years to include synthetic biology, CRISPR technology, bio-orthogonal proomics, and the development of innovative digital sensors that we have applied collaboratively to the fields aging and genetic disease diagnostics. This research will help us better understand the factors that influence homeostasis and enable new rational treatments for a variety of diseases such as metabolic, inflammatory, degenerative and fibrotic.
