Lockheed Martin’s Vision for Space Exploration 2050: Using AI, Quantum Computing and Nuclear Power

Lockheed Martin’s Space 2050 vision is based on AI, quantum and nuclear technology.

Lockheed Martin considers artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and nuclear power to be important technologies for future space missions.

Lockheed Martin executives, through a project called Destination: Space 2050 are exploring how AI can assist in scientific exploration at locations where communication with remote sensors is disrupted due to high latency.

David Lackner said that in this type of environment \”you can’t really interact with the robot sensors\”, Lockheed Martin Senior Manager Strategy and Business Development, David Lackner stated during a webinar on June 28. \”You need something super autonomous to deal with unknown unknowns. We have some really cool causal autonomy tools which… let the AI be super-smart about tackling something it’s never seen before.
