The Longevity Science Foundation was launched today by a consortium of biotech entrepreneurs, leading clinicians and longevity research institutions. The Swiss foundation will distribute more than $1 billion in the next 10 years to institutions, projects and research that promote healthy human longevity.

Longevity. Technology: The Foundation’s \”Visionary Board\”, led by Evelyne Bischof, is comprised of key longevity researchers including Andrea B Maier and Eric Verdin. Matt Kaeberlein, Alex Zhavoronkov and Andrea B Maier are also members.

The fund’s bold and simple goal is to support projects that will make a rapid difference. It aims to \”make a significant difference as quickly as possible in the lives of people\” with a hope of achieving this within five years.

The Longevity Science Foundation provides funding to institutions and groups that are doing promising research in longevity around the globe. The Foundation will focus on supporting projects in four areas of healthy long-term medicine and technology – therapeutics, AI, personalised medicine and predictive diagnostics. The Foundation wants to fund projects which can have a positive impact on people’s lives within the next five years.
