Machine learning algorithm identifies three natural anti-aging chemical substances

Researchers used a machine-learning model to identify compounds that may help combat aging. The researchers say that their approach may be a good way to identify new drugs, particularly for complex diseases.

For our body to grow, and tissues to regenerate themselves, cell division is essential. Cellular senescence is the phenomenon in which cells stop dividing permanently but remain within the body. This causes tissue damage and aging throughout the body.

Our immune system normally removes senescent cell from our body. As we age, the immune system becomes less efficient at removing these cells, and their numbers increase. Increased senescent cell numbers have been linked to diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s and the signs of aging. These include worsening vision and decreased mobility. There has been an effort to create senolytics that can remove senescent cell.
