Build an Atlas of Senescent Cell Secretions
Recently, a team of researchers, including Professor Judy Campisi, has published an atlas charting the inflammatory senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) [1].
SASPs are classified according to their nature
As we age, more and more of our cells move into a state called senescence. Senescent cells are no longer able to divide and support the tissues they belong to. Instead, these cells secrete harmful inflammation signals called the SASP.
