Researchers at Mayo Clinic pioneer AI method for predicting how cells are arranged in disease microenvironments
The cells in the body are precisely arranged. They are the building blocks of the life. This is necessary, because the pathways and spaces allow cells to communicate and collaborate within a specific organ or tissue. Cell arrangement changes can cause uncontrolled growth, cell death, and other diseases including cancer.
Scientists from the Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine, and Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center developed a method of artificial intelligence called Spatially Informed Artificial Intelligence. This new deep learning technique analyzes the genetic information from individual cells in order to reconstruct the exact layout of cells within a tissue without any prior knowledge.
Biomolecules has published a new study on SPIN-AI.
