Neeva, a potential Google competitor, has shut down its search engine
\”We have discovered that it’s one thing to create a search engine and another to convince users to make the switch.\”
Neeva, a startup that for a time looked like it could challenge Google Search’s dominance, announced Saturday its decision to shut down its search engine. The company claims it is pivoting towards AI and could be acquired by Snowflake or The Information.
In a blog posting announcing their shutdown, Neeva’s co-founders Sridhar Raghunathan and Vivek Ramaswamy wrote: \”Building search engine is hard.\”
Neeva had a number of advantages over Google in terms of search, but it couldn’t convince users to switch.
