New drug passes first human trial in anti-aging

The first human trial of an anti-aging drug that kills old cells has been successful

The patients were given nine doses over the course of a three-week period of dasatinib, a leukemia medication, and quercetin as a supplement. The patients reported that by the end of the study, they were able to walk further than before in the same time period and showed other signs of improvement.

In a press statement, Jamie Justice stated that \”this pilot study represents a major advancement in the treatment of age-related diseases like IPF.\” Here, we have therapeutically targeted an aging biological hallmark that is implicated with IPF. We show early, but promising results in human patients.
