OpenAI releases official ChatGPT App for iOS
ChatGPT has gone mobile. OpenAI has announced today the launch of its official iOS app, which allows users to access their popular AI chatbot while on the move, months after it was crowded with unofficial, dubious services. ChatGPT will be available for free, without ads and with voice input. The company claims that the app will initially only be available to U.S. customers.
ChatGPT is a desktop app that allows users to communicate with an AI chatbot. Users can ask questions, get inspiration, learn new things, do research and much more. Apple’s Siri voice assistant has been plagued by problems, and Apple is not making any progress in AI. The new release of ChatGPT could encourage more users to use it as their primary mobile assistant. Google could also be affected by the launch, since the search engine is currently the default in Safari on Apple iPhones.
ChatGPT’s mobile app syncs your search history across all devices, so you can access the information you previously found via the web interface. OpenAI’s Whisper open source speech recognition software is integrated into the app to allow voice input.
