OpenAI’s $1 million grant initiative: Exploring solutions for ethical AI governance

OpenAI grants $1 million to help shape ethical AI and combat misinformation
OpenAI announced in a blog that it will offer $100,000 to the best ideas for how to regulate and control AI.

OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT, has announced ten $100,000 awards for anyone who can come up with a good idea on how artificial intelligent (AI) could be governed in order to address biases and other factors. The grants will go to those who have the best answers to some of the most pressing questions around AI. For example, whether AI should be allowed an opinion about public figures.

It is in response to the debates about whether AI systems like ChatGPT have an inherent bias due to the data on which they are trained (not mentioning the opinions of programmers who work behind the scenes). There have been reports of AI-generated results that are biased or discriminatory. Search engines such as Google and Bing are generating more information that is misleading.
