Regular fasting linked to lower heart failure and longer life span

Fasting regularly can lead to a longer and healthier life

Two new studies have found that regular fasting can reduce the risk of heart failure, and also increase life expectancy.

Researchers wanted to shed light on the long-standing debate over how fasting impacts health. Recent studies show that it can reduce blood pressure, \”bad LDL cholesterol\” and insulin resistance. This condition can increase blood sugar. In 2017, a study found that alternate-day fasting is as effective for weight loss and maintaining the pounds as daily calorie restrictions.

New studies focused on patients with heart disease evaluated in Utah and other Rocky Mountain States. The research involved hundreds of Mormons who fast on Sundays for up to 24 hours.
