Rejuvenation Through Plasma Dilution: Human Trial Shows Promising Results

Humans Rejuvenated by Plasma Dilution
It was a small trial, with only 8 participants. However, it seems to have been successful across the board.

A groundbreaking study published in GeroScience by the Conboy lab confirmed that plasma dilution can lead to systemic rejuvenation in humans against multiple proteomic aging aspects.

This paper takes the position that systemic molecular overproduction is a major cause of aging. Cells that exhibit gene expression characteristic of older cells are caused by signaling molecules, antibodies and toxins which accumulate uncontrollably.

This heterochronic parabiosis method is not feasible or necessary for humans. This paper instead focuses on the therapeutic plasma exchange procedure (TPE), which replaces blood plasma by saline and albumin. This procedure is already being used to dilute toxic pathogenic compounds [2], systemic problems related to autoimmune disorders and neurological disorders including Alzheimer’s disease [3], as well as the lingering effects of viral infections [4].
