The underwater robot could soon replace dangerous divers
This is ideal for rescue and search missions.
Scientists from the ETH Zurich spin-off company Tethys Robotics developed an underwater robotic system that can be used in situations where human divers are not safe.
According to an InceptiveMind report published on Saturday, this is the case.
The new autonomous underwater vehicle was specifically designed for use in hazardous environments such as turbid rivers and channels. The Tethys robot will take over when conventional search and recovery techniques fail.
