Clothing monitors with a new self-repairing, bacteria repellant metallic coating
Scientists have developed a simple metallic treatment that can be applied to clothing or textiles. This coating is able to repair itself, repel bacteria and monitor the electrocardiogram heart signals of a wearer.
According to a Flinders University press release published last month.
The liquid metal particles (LM) that are used to create the conductive circuits can be transformed into wearable electronic devices. This is because the ‘breathable’ electronic textiles possess special connectivity abilities to ‘autonomously’ heal themselves when they have been cut.
