SENS Research Foundation Update: Major Progress at MitoSENS

MitoSENS Update September 2018

The SENS Research Foundation has a MitoSENS update for you today. Some of you might remember that MitoSENS, our first research fundraising project on Lifespan.io in August 2015, was hosted by the SENS Research Foundation. The project raised $46,128, or 153% of funds needed. The extra money was used to expand the scope of the research project. This led to a publication in the prestigious Oxford Journal.

The team has since been working hard to transfer the other mitochondrial gene to the nucleus. They have provided an update so that everyone can know how the work is progressing in the lab. Dr. Matthew \”Oki’ O’Connor spoke about the progress and future.

Hi, everyone! It’s time for another exciting update on mito. We’ve prepared two teasers this time. We’re working on a story that will tell you about a trick we discovered that improves the expression of mitogens. Before we write the manuscript or make an announcement, we need to confirm that we are 100% certain that we are right. But we’re getting close. This means that we are getting it to work with more genes. Stay tuned!
